Universal Fighting System

Universal Fighting System (UFS) is a collectible card game from Fantasy Flight Games. Players take on the persona of legendary characters from classic video gaming titles to participate in one-on-one combat for supremacy.

As in Magic: The Gathering, players build a deck of cards and duel against an opponent's deck. The first player to reduce his opponent to 0 vitality (or meet another set win condition) wins the game.

The game has been launched officially in April 2006 by Sabertooth Games, but the first product, Penny Arcade battle box, has been released a month earlier. On February 22nd 2008 the publication rights have been transferred to Fantasy Flight Games. In May 2010, publication rights were transferred to Jasco Games.

Universes

UFS covers different video games, and other combat-compatible realms. Characters that participate in battle need not to be from the same universe.
