Richard the Lionheart

England, late twelfth century. The country is divided. King Richard I, also known as Richard the Lionheart, is in the Holy Land commanding the Third Crusade against the forces of Saladin. There he waged war for the glory of God and of England. However, while the conflict continues abroad, a threat grows in the kingdom. Juan Sin Tierra, youngest son of Enrique II and Ricardo's little brother, sits on the throne and rules as king. His allies, especially the Sheriff of Nottingham, are ending any kind of resistance across the country and plotting against Ricardo. However, the Cheerful Companions, a band of outlaws, defy such usurpation by proclaiming Ricardo as the legitimate King of England and swearing allegiance to the end.
