Black Sonata: The Mysterious Young Man includes several expansions that can be added to the base game individually or in combination. The Mysterious Young Man and Rendezvous add additional deduction tasks, while Darker Ladies replace the base game's ladies to provide added difficulty. The Rival Poet has two modes: one that will make the game easier and the other more difficult. Waypoints and Footprints are tools that help you follow the Dark Lady's path through London.

This set of expansions adds new challenges to the solo game of Black Sonata, as well as deduction tests and tracking aids.

• The Mysterious Young Man: The Mysterious Young Man has crossed the city and is now hiding somewhere in London. You must deduce his location and catch him there.

• Rendezvous: A location held special significance for Shakespeare and his Dark Lady. Perhaps they met behind a tree or in a dark corner of a church. Maybe they went to the theater together, or shopping, or drinking. Your mission is to discover which of the 7 locations is the special encounter location and unmask the lady there.

• The Rival Poet: This expansion adds a second pawn, representing the Rival Poet. Two poets are available: the Slippery Poet will make the game easier by giving you an additional way to gather clues, and the Aggressive Poet will make the game more difficult by hindering your moves.

• The Darkest Ladies: This alternative deck of Dark Lady cards has 4 different types, each with 3 cards. These cards will be harder to deduce and may require more clues than those in the base game. The difficulty level will be lower for hearts and clubs, and higher for spades.
