Successors

You find yourself in a pleasant bedroom in one of the rooms of the palace of Nebocodonosor II. Babylon is burning in the late spring sun, but the events taking place before your very eyes chill you to the bone. A 13-year reign of unmatched courage, splendid victories, and relentless conquest comes to an end not with a glorious battle, but with a death rattle. Alexander the Great, surrounded by his most loyal generals, is breathing his last breath. You are not sure if he has heard the harsh whisper that comes from his last exhale: "For the strongest."

When Alexander the Great died in 323 BC. of C., he did not leave a clear heir for the immense empire that he had conquered. It was not long before the Macedonian generals began to fight among themselves over who would be the regent or successor to Alexander's empire. By 305 they gave up fighting for the succession and decided to focus on their own kingdoms.

Recreate the struggle of the Successors in this magnificent game for 2 to 5 players

Succesors is an intense card-driven strategy game with simple yet deeply themed rules. Each game round, you can play a Tyche card, to use his event or his operations points.

By spending operations points, you can move your generals, train new troops, or improve your political support in the provinces. By controlling provinces, you will get victory points.

The events of the game will provide you with different strategic advantages that can be decisive during the game: capture Alexander's relatives to gain prestige, force marriages with their wives or bribe the troops of your rivals to join your cause. If you gain enough legitimacy, you can also be victorious.

However, keep in mind that you are not the only candidate to succeed Alejandro. The rest of the players will be on the lookout and will try to avoid at all costs that your power or legitimacy grows too much. You will have to fight them on the battlefield. When this happens, the talent of your general, your troops and their quality and the goddess fortune will determine the result.
