In the Ashes

Into the Ashes is a tabletop action role-playing game in book format. After its great success, it returns in this new edition under a renewed and updated image. Live the entire gaming experience that the great thematic-narratives provide you in an adventure to enjoy at any time, but with depth in mechanics and setting. You can see it as a solo dungeon crawler with an epic campaign, legendary battles, and memorable scenes.

 

This means that, drawing and marking on paper:

- You will move your character around the board to fight dark enemies.

- You will play action cards to create spectacular combinations.

- You will level up your character to specialize in forbidden disciplines.

- You will find legendary items to improve your skills.

- You will make difficult decisions that will affect the story.

- You will tempt fate by applying sources of controlled chance to actions and behaviors.

- You will fight powerful bosses with unique mechanics and wicked intelligence.

- You will discover hidden references in the images that will give you access to secret advantages.

- You can study a grimoire of runes to enhance your attacks.

And you will do all this in the book, using nothing more than a pencil (or a pen). It takes a second to start playing In The Ashes, and another second to save it. You can play it on the train, on the beach, or lying in bed. Open and enjoy: you will learn how to play as you progress through the first pages, in a tutorial of increasing complexity and integrated with the story. The campaign lasts more than twelve hours, and is completely replayable by choosing other paths.

Forget about constantly jumping between pages to read paragraphs or consult statistics, since it has been designed to minimize maintenance so that you can enjoy your time with the game to the fullest. You don't need a table, or an app, or to print a character sheet, or even a rubber band. You also don't need dice (although you can use them), since the sources of controlled chance are in the book itself.
