A thick fog has settled on the fertile meadows of Carcassonne, engulfing entire farms and swirling up to the city walls. Even the bravest knights tremble before it and their armor rattles when they hear the tale of the monks: “The mist brings the souls of the Cathars who were persecuted during the Crusades. They return to do justice.

To restore peace to Carcassonne, you must work together to appease restless spirits. This completely independent edition, but compatible with the original classic game Carcassonne, is the work of the same author, Klaus-Jürgen Wrede, and features art by Marcel Gröber. It allows solo games or in groups of up to 5 players, from 8 years old, about 35 minutes long.

For the first time in the Carcassonne universe, players will work as a team to overcome a common challenge. But in addition to offering a cooperative mode, the material in this edition can serve as an expansion and integrate with the base game and any of its other versions. This is one of the most versatile editions of Carcassonne published to date!

The box is loaded with components: 45 meeples in two new types, 60 tiles and a set of rules that explain how to play this edition separately or how to integrate it with the original game.

On the tiles we find roads, cities, castles and cemeteries, but what makes them special is that many of them are covered by a dense fog. On these tiles we will place the ghosts that will need to be appeased as the game progresses. The game takes place according to the classic rules of Carcassonne: in each turn, the players will take a tile from the common reserve and place it in full view of the rest of the players, fitting one or more sides with the previous tiles.

Little by little, a single map will be formed, which will report points based on the completed projects (roads, cities, etc.). In this edition, for the first time, all players must cooperate to reduce the fog and spawn as few ghosts as possible and survive for three days. If too many ghosts have appeared or days have passed before enough points have been achieved, we will lose the game.

The mythical tile placement game adds a new title that fans of the saga will fall in love with. But Fog in Carcassonne is also a good title for fans of cooperative games and for the more casual audience that still doesn't know the Klaus-Jürgen Wrede classic.
