Star Realms (Spanish)

Star Realms is a card deck building board game. A game accommodates 2 players (but 2 more can be added per basic deck, up to a total of 6). Play time is about 20 minutes. The age recommended by the Spanish editor, Devir, is 12 years old, but the Boardgamegeek community recommends it from 8 or older.

Star Realms was the winner of the Golden Geek award in the category of best card game and best game for 2 players in 2014. On Boardgamegeek it scores an excellent 7.6 points and ranks within the “Top 100”.

Star Realms is set as a faction fighting game in space. We will have to get the best fleet that allows us to destroy our enemy at the highest speed possible. There are 4 factions fighting to control the Galaxy but during the game the contenders can use any of them if they consider it appropriate.

The rules of Star Realms draw on the extraordinary Dominion in the sense that players draw from the same deck to fight with the opponent and develop their own deck as they go. However, Star Realms is perhaps more dynamic and easier to learn. The game is learned in 10 minutes and the deployment is practically non-existent: distribute the starting cards to each contestant and shuffle the playing deck and we will be prepared for combat.

In a basic game our objective will be to bring our opponent's life points to 0 (although here they are called Authority points, their function is basically the same as if they were life points). However, there are also mission packages available that alter these objectives and allow us to explore new possibilities in the development of a game.

Star Realms is a great game in every sense: fun, quick to learn and deploy, and can be taken anywhere. Also, who hasn't wanted to shoot up a space destroyer at some point?
