When the Martians invade a planet, the Science Division is often seen gathering examples of the local fauna for experiments. Such experiments can range from molecular dissection to understand the biological clues to life in a given environment, to blood and tissue sampling and cloning to produce survival gear appropriate for particularly harsh environments. But sometimes, they just blow things up, knowing that nothing scares the natives quite like giant versions of normally benign creatures. Earth is no exception, and the Science Division has been highly successful in producing these "mutant bugs," which they plan to let loose to rampage through the population of Greenville.
