Although it turns a blind eye to the occasional prospector or wildcatter, nearly every mining or industrial facility in Malifaux is required to use Miners and Steamfitters Union labor. This lucrative and powerful contract between the leadership of the M&SU and the Guild has served both parties well for years. When a small operation becomes too lucrative, M&SU troubleshooters are employed. This tactic has only failed on one occasion.

The only operative to return brought the name Johan. The operative could not confirm for certain, but he was convinced the weapon Johan used to dispatch the rest of the team was one of the legendary relic hammers previously only seen in Taelors hands. The animosity between Johan and M&SU continues to this day, and The Union is quick to blame Johan for any act of sabotage.
