Shu Ming the Ruthless - Captain
Shu Ming's story is similar to that of so many other women who give themselves to life in the sea: an arranged marriage that did not go well led her to flee her father's palace. But Shu Ming was the youngest daughter of Emperor Gao Ming, the one with the Iron Hand. She was hunted for years and became an expert at evading or surmounting her father's ambushes, feeling no pity for the poor fools sent to bring her home. His success drove his father to the brink of insanity and caused his downfall at the hands of the Gor-Dawn, the rival dynasty. It is said that when he received the news, Shu Ming laughed and said ?everything is going according to plan?.

Lien Hua, the Flower of Death ? Swordsman
Lien Hua was born in Japan, into an exiled family. His father made a living teaching Chinese martial arts, but unfortunately fell into a lengthy feud with a rival Japanese instructor. The conflict was settled when the local prefect ordered them to exchange their children for ten years and one day. Thus, a preteen Lien Hua spent most of her formative years under the tutelage of a Japanese swordmaster, earning her title as the Flower of Death.

Ai Fei, the Favorite of Mazu - Brute
In whispers, it is said that Ai Fei's origin could be divine. Few women of such exceptional intelligence and beauty also possess the strength of ten men. His only relative was his father, a humble fisherman from Singapore whose boat never returned on a fateful autumn day. Ai Fei prayed to all the gods for guidance and knowledge, and Mazu responded with a vision of her father, in chains, scrubbing a deck. Later visions guided her to the Curses, despite her lack of navigational skills.
