IONIC German Tanks WWII 1943-45

The Ionic German Tank Set (1943-1945) includes 12 acrylic colors, specially designed to provide the essential tones for painting German vehicles of this era.

This set of 12 paints contains all the colors needed to paint German vehicles between 1943 and 1945, including the undercarriage and tools. German regulations from 1943 onward stipulated that tanks must leave the factory painted in dark yellow or dunkelgelb RAL 7028. Crews could then apply camouflage, most often using Olivgrün (olive green, RAL 6003) and a brown shade referred to in official documents as Rotbraun or Braun. However, modelers often use the modern name and designation: Schokobraun (RAL 8017).

Along with the exact shades for creating the green and brown camouflage, the set includes two shades of dunkelgelb: one dark to create shadows (optional) and another representing this characteristic color of German tanks. Additionally, two different shades of rust are included, light and dark, to simulate rust on exhaust pipes and tracks, which can be combined with another very dark brown to create flaking. Also included are the shades needed to paint the tracks, including a neutral brown as a base and a dark metallic color, also useful for painting the tools. The set also includes a reddish brown for painting the wooden parts of the tools, and black for the rubber and other details. Finally, the set is completed with a universal color for creating lighter tones and applying highlights, Bone. Although all these colors can be used as such to paint each element of the vehicle, they can also be combined to create new colors or shades, especially to generate volume by playing with light and shadow.
