GOLD SERIES Siberian Kolinsky Brush - 1

The premium range of GSW Kolinsky brushes, the Gold Series. Handcrafted by expert artisans, only the finest parts of the Siberian Kolinsky hair have been used in the making of the Gold Series brushes, producing high-end brushes of the highest quality. They are distinguished from the mid-range by their greater paint-holding capacity, longer lifespan, and masterful stroke ability. These brushes come in a protective sleeve to preserve their quality.

Recommended for traditional painting, especially for fine techniques such as washes, glazes, inks, and creating gradients, generally with more diluted mediums. Not recommended for stippling or dry brush techniques as these can damage the tip. Kolinsky hair guarantees great water and paint absorption, as well as excellent elasticity, which makes it in a very technical brush.

By their nature, natural hair brushes require more care than synthetic hair brushes, as their deterioration leads to loss of shape and breakage. To increase their lifespan, it is important not to let paint residue dry between the bristles and to reshape them to a pointed point. We recommend using our Brush Repair Gel (LINK) for this purpose. When you finish painting, leave the brushes to rest pointing upwards to prevent the tips from becoming deformed.

It is not recommended to use Kolinsky brushes with oil paints, as the thinners and cleaners of this type of paint deteriorate the hair quickly.
