Green Stuff World Dipping Ink Markers are designed for quick and easy miniature painting using the contrast technique. They come ready to use and filled with our Dipping Ink paints, whose fluidity and transparency allow the color to accumulate in recesses and remain lighter in raised areas, creating shadows, highlights, and depth with a single application.

They feature a size 2 tip, suitable for quickly and with control over the different areas of a miniature. The marker format allows you to apply the paint directly without the need for brushes, a wet palette, or additional containers, making it a convenient and practical alternative for painting miniatures, figures, and wargaming armies.

How to paint miniatures with markers?

To achieve the best contrast effect, we recommend applying Dipping Ink Markers over a white or light-colored primer. They are also especially effective on a grisaille created using the Slatchop technique, by first preparing the highlights and shadows with black, gray, and white. When Dipping Ink is then applied, these variations remain visible through the color and automatically increase the contrast and definition of the miniature.

Shake the refillable marker well before use and apply the paint directly to the surface, ensuring even distribution and avoiding excessively going over areas that have already begun to dry.

The size #2 tip offers a good balance between coverage and control. For painting smaller details or areas requiring greater precision, it can be replaced with our size #1 refill tips, available separately.

Can Dipping Ink markers be reused and refilled?

Yes. Once the original paint is used up, GSW paint markers can be cleaned, refilled, and reused with new colors. We have replacement tip and internal component sets with everything you need to Renew the marker and extend its lifespan.

They can be refilled with our Dipping Ink paints, airbrush paints, and other acrylic paints with suitable flow. Thicker paints can be adapted using acrylic thinner until the necessary flow is achieved.

In this way, when the original contents are used up, they can become a refillable and customizable modeling marker to create new colors, mixes, and effects.
