Union Steamfitters Information

The Miners and Steamfitters Union is made up of two groups: the miners who toil away in the Northern Hills, and the Steamfitters who have received special dispensation from the Guild to use their magical abilities to keep the Union's mining construct operation.

In actuality, many Steamfitters are Archanist agents who use their position as Steamfitters as a convenient excuse for their possession of magical powers. New Steamfitters undergo multiple tests of loyalty to feel them out, and only those with a grudge against the Guild are ever approached by Archanist recruiters.

Even if not Archanists proper, a Steamfitter's knowledge of engineering and artefacting can be invaluable in battle... or when the Union needs a mining construct retrofitted for combat.
