More info

The locals of the island of Bali consider their home to be a world inhabited by gods and demons. To placate their ancestors, rituals and offerings are common and a large part of the harvest ends up in the sanctuaries and temples of the island. As a player, you will have to compete against others to get the most victory points. Your farmers will generate different goods in the fields. When a shrine is built, you must make an offering using your offering cards. It is important to maintain a good relationship between the offering cards that you will keep at the end of the game and those that you will offer at the altar, since the value of the offerings will change constantly during the game and only part of the information will be known by each player. Priests and stonecutters will help you along the way, providing victory points and resources with which to improve your chances of victory.

On your turn, you will first have the option of drawing goods cards from those available: pepper , rice, bananas or peanuts. The cost is high: 5 stones minus the number of farmers of that type of good. The more farmers of the same type you accumulate, the more goods of that type you can get during the game.

Afterwards, you must play at least one card from your hand. Many of them are free, but the shrines, valuable cards that give victory points at the end of the game, cost 7 stones. The advantage is that they open a special offering phase in which all players will place their offerings on the altar. As the player who built the shrine, you will be able to play your card face down to mislead your opponents.

You can now replenish your hand of cards by drawing new cards until you have 3. Choose from those available in the card supply. But keep something in mind: the last phase of your turn is a score that affects all players. The last visible card in the column from which you took the last card, indicates that you have to score: stonemasons, farmers, priests or shrines. Each player will receive resources, victory points or offering cards, but whoever has the most of the type of card that is scored, will get an extra.

Bali is a fast and very simple game of rules but with Good strategic depth. This re-implementation of the classic Rapa Nui also includes two variants: oracles and demons.

Oracles: thanks to the oracles, the player will be able to look at some cards from the altar and secretly take one of them. In this way, you will not only be altering the final value of that good, but you will also be getting some extra victory points.

Demons: the demon prevents the player from taking cards from the column on which it is located . Only through the game of the priests will the players be able to move the demon to release other columns of the card supply.
