FILMS is a game for 1 to 2 players in which we will have to save our movie studio in Hollywood from the unstoppable advance of streaming platforms. For this we will have to hire great movie stars, have a good script and make a great movie that sweeps the box office.
Players will compete to see who can make the best movie and sell the most tickets. Since the games are fast, we recommend playing best of three.
Each player receives 3 cards and there will be another two on the table face up. The game consists of 8 rounds and each round is divided into 3 phases:
Puja Phase: Players choose a card from their hand and reveal it at the same time.
Choice Phase: The card with the lowest calendar number (that is, the one that will take less time to shoot a scene) chooses one of the two available face-up cards and gives the other to the opponent. The two cards bid by the players in the Bid Phase will form the market for the next round.
Placement Phase: Each player places the chosen card in his playing area to the right of those already placed, oriented in any direction. The lower half will be ignored and the upper half will apply its effects.
Each card has a specific effect that will affect, positively or negatively, the rest of the placed cards. The goal at the end of the game is to accumulate the highest number of ticket icons that represent tickets sold.
The game includes the Premiere Cinemas expansion. With it, the game will last 10 rounds and we will have four new cards that will add new effects and variety to our games.
In addition, the game has a solo variant in which you will face a «Virtual Producer».
