Unlike the elegant processes and techniques of Biomancy that are used in the development of creations such as the Marksman Clone, Brute Drones reflect the senseless contempt that Spiers feel for the suffering of their creations. Selected from among the less imperfect Force Grown Drones they use as cannon fodder, the potential Brutes are transported and subjected to a ruthlessly efficient testing process, to corroborate whether their bodies can survive the stress of transformation. Those who do not pass this test, serve only for the recycling of biomass.

For those who survive, the last step of this invasive procedure is to seal the possible clones into a shell-armor that they will use for the rest of their lives, however short. Then they are immersed, with armor and everything, in a bucket with chemical agents to increase their bone mass and muscles. Along with hormonal growth treatments, the result is impressive, although limited. Body mass can triple in just two months of immersion, but the pain and trauma of the process severely affect the already limited mental faculties of drones.

The huge armors with which they submerge soon fill up completely, preventing further growth and causing more and more pain in the nascent Brutus. Once the pain is intense enough to overcome the sedative agents added to the chemical mixture, the Brute is considered fully developed and removed, before its violent shaking damages the rest of the lot. The process could be much more compassionate and effective, but time and practice have shown that this is the most efficient method, in terms of resources, to develop these frontline shock troops. The very high failure rate among low-category drones is more than offset by the tremendously reduced cost and supervision.

With a height of more than two meters (most specimens reach a limit of three meters), Brute Drones are a huge mass of muscle and aggression. The skin, which hides beneath bandages soaked with chemicals, is a devastated mass of scar tissue and subdermal bone deposits. Its armor is literally glued to their bodies, and is fixed by alchemically treated cartridges that establish the authorship of the Lineage, the lot number and the date of improvement of each particular drone.

On the battlefield, Brute Drones are little more than a live battering ram. As a result, they are always deployed together with a Pheromancer, whose powerful pheromonal commands are the only thing that can go through the madness of pain and rage that clouds your mind.
