Neodymium magnets are the most powerful type of permanent magnet available on the market. They have replaced other types of magnets in many modern applications that require strong permanent magnets.

The designations N35, N42, N52, etc., are relative measures of the quality of the material used in the manufacture of the magnet. The higher the grade (the number after the "N"), the stronger the magnet. From this, one can deduce Two things:
- How much "magnetic energy" per unit volume is stored in this magnetic material.
- Up to what maximum temperature the magnet can be used.

The letter "N" means that they can be exposed to temperatures up to 80°C (176°F). The neodymium magnets with the strongest attraction currently available are the N52.

When comparing two magnets of different sizes and magnetizations from our range, volume will in most cases be the deciding factor for their strength, rather than differences in magnetization. Therefore, the larger magnet is almost always the stronger, even if the magnetization reading is slightly lower.
