Textured Roller with Handle
Textured rollers with handles for spreading and shaping all types of putty, polymer clays, and sculpting pastes. Made of non-stick, transparent PMMA plastic.
Thanks to their small size and the innovative design of their ergonomic handle, they are easy to transport and use.
Different textures are available, making them compatible with different modeling scales. The textures are scalable to cover large surfaces, and thanks to their handle, they allow you to print textures, creating curves to give more realism to the model or base.
Roller Width: 4 cm (1.5 inches)
Roller Length with Handle: 14cm (5.5 inches)
Diameter: 2.5cm (1 inch)
Scale: 54mm-Military (1/35-1/32)
* Rollers and handles are supplied unassembled. A photo guide to assist with assembly is available at the following link.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
1. Thoroughly mix the sculpting putty/clay until ready to use according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
2. Spread the putty/clay onto the surface to be textured. For best results, level and smooth the surface properly before applying the rollers.
*** A smooth roller is recommended for this purpose.
3. Depending on the type of material being used, it would be advisable Dampen the roller to prevent the material from sticking.
4. Roll slowly, applying even pressure to all areas to achieve a uniform texture.
5. Trim off any excess putty/clay. It is recommended to do this once the putty/clay has dried.
MATERIALS:
There are countless putties and clays on the market, and all of them can be textured using the appropriate technique.
Generally, polymer clays (such as Fimo or Super Sculpey) are quite easy to work with using these rollers and allow for easy correction of mistakes since they do not dry until baked. If the goal is to create textured bases, we recommend using MDF wood bases, as it is possible to texture the clay directly onto the MDF base and then bake everything, base included. The baking time for clays is 15 minutes at 150ºC. MDF wood will leave a smell similar to toast, but it will not burn. In the case of epoxy putties, there are more differences and more techniques to achieve similar results. These types of materials do not need to be baked and can be applied directly onto plastic materials. In the case of green stuff, which is especially sticky, it will be necessary to dampen the rollers with a little water. You can also reduce the stickiness of this putty by applying talcum powder, or for best results, a little modeling petroleum jelly. Other epoxy putties such as Milliput, Magic Sculpt, and Aves Apoxie Sculpt are also suitable, but we recommend not over-wetting them as this makes them difficult to work with. It is better to work with petroleum jelly. Sculptor's tool.
*** With this type of putty, it is very important to properly clean the rollers after use.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE:
After finishing working with the rollers, if any material remains on the design, clean with the Scratch Brushes and plenty of water.
SAFETY:
These rollers are tools that should not be used by children without adult supervision.
