STEAMPUNK Roller

Special textured roller for spreading and shaping all types of putties, clays, and pastes. Made of non-stick, transparent PMMA plastic. Non-toxic.

  • Length: 14.50 cm (5.5 inches)
  • Diameter: 2.5 cm (1 inch)
  • Scale: 28-35 mm

USAGE:

  1. Mix the sculpting clay/putty properly until ready to use according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Place and spread the clay/putty on the surface to be textured. For best results, even out and Smooth the surface properly before applying the rollers. It is recommended to use a smooth roller for this purpose. Depending on the type of material chosen, it may be advisable to dampen the roller, or use modeling petroleum jelly, to prevent sticking. Roll slowly, applying the same pressure at all points to obtain a homogeneous texture. Trim any excess putty/clay. It is recommended to do this once the putty/clay has dried. MATERIALS: There is a wide variety of clays and putties on the market, and all of them can be textured by applying the appropriate technique. Polymer clays (such as Super Sculpey) are generally quite easy to work with and allow for corrections, as they do not dry until baked. If the goal is to create textured bases, we recommend using bases of MDF, since it's possible to texture the clay directly onto this type of base and then put everything in the oven, base included. The baking time for clays is usually 15 minutes at a temperature of 150ºC. The MDF wood will leave a smell similar to toast, but it won't burn. In the case of epoxy putties, there are more differences and techniques to achieve similar results. The good thing is that they don't need to be baked and can be applied directly onto plastic materials. In the case of green epoxy putty (Green Stuff), which is especially sticky, it will be necessary to dampen the rollers with a little water. You can also reduce the stickiness of this putty by applying talcum powder or, for the best results, a little modeling petroleum jelly. Other epoxy putties, such as Milliput epoxy compound, are also suitable, but we recommend not over-wetting them as this makes them difficult to work with. On the other hand, if the mixture is too sticky It's best to continue kneading until it reduces its stickiness.

With this type of putty, it's essential to clean the rollers properly.

    CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE:

After finishing working with the rollers, if any material remains on the design, clean with the special Scratch brushes and plenty of water.

    SAFETY:
