Decorative textured roller for spreading and shaping all types of putties, clays, and pastes. Made of non-stick, transparent PMMA plastic. Non-toxic.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Thoroughly mix the sculpting putty/clay until ready to use according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

2. Spread the putty/clay onto the surface to be textured. For best results, even out and smooth the surface before rolling. The smooth roller is Perfect for this purpose.

3rd Depending on the type of material chosen, it would be advisable to dampen the roller or use modeling petroleum jelly to prevent sticking.

4th Roll slowly, applying the same pressure at all points to obtain a homogeneous texture.

5th Trim off any excess putty/clay when it is dry.

MATERIALS:

There is a wide range of putties and clays on the market, and all of them can be textured by applying the appropriate technique.

Generally, polymer clays (like Super Sculpey) are quite easy to work with using these rollers and allow for easy correction of mistakes because they do not dry until they are baked. If the goal is to create textured bases, we recommend using MDF wood bases since it is possible to texture the clay directly onto the MDF base and then bake it. Base included. The clay baking time is 15 minutes at 150ºC. The MDF wood will leave a smell similar to toast, but it will not burn.

In the case of epoxy putties, there are differences and more techniques to achieve similar results. The advantage is that they do not need to be baked and can be applied directly to plastic materials.

In the case of green epoxy putty (Green Stuff), which is especially sticky, it will be necessary to dampen the rollers with a little water. You can also reduce stickiness by applying talcum powder or, for best results, a little modeling petroleum jelly.

Other epoxy putties such as Milliput-type putty are also suitable, but we recommend not over-wetting them as this makes them difficult to work with. On the other hand, if the mixture is too sticky, it is best to continue kneading until its stickiness is reduced.

*** It is very important to clean the rollers properly after use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE:

After using the rollers, if any material remains on the drawing, clean with the special Scratch brushes and plenty of water.
