Small Dutch Brick Textured Roller

This textured roller has been developed to create decorative reliefs on clays, pastes, or putties used in model making and sculpture. Made of transparent acrylic plastic (PMMA), it is durable, non-toxic, and has a non-stick finish that makes it easy to clean and handle.

Measurements:

  • Length: 14.50 cm (5.5 inches)
  • Diameter: 2.5 cm (1 inch)
  • Drawing Size Range: 2x3 to 2x4.5 mm (variable)
  • Recommended Scales: 1/35 - 1/43 - 1/48 - 1/76

EXAMPLE:

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Work the putty or clay until you obtain a uniform texture suitable for application on the chosen surface, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Spread the material and smooth it completely to achieve a suitable surface before applying the texture. To facilitate this step, you can use a smooth roller.
  3. Depending on the type of product, it may be advisable to dampen the roller or apply a small amount of modeling petroleum jelly to prevent sticking.
  4. Roll over the surface applying the texture. Apply constant pressure and firm movements, ensuring a regular and well-defined texture.
  5. Allow the material to harden before cutting or removing the excess.

TIPS ACCORDING TO THE MATERIAL:

This roller works with a wide variety of putties and clays.

If you're working with Super Sculpey, it will be easy to correct mistakes, as this clay doesn't harden until baked. You can apply it directly onto MDF wood bases and bake them together for 15 minutes at 150°C (300°F). MDF wood is not damaged by this temperature, although it may give off a slight smell similar to toast.

In the case of epoxy putties, there are several aspects to consider.

Green Stuff is very sticky, so it's recommended to wet the roller or apply a little petroleum jelly to make it easier to use. Talcum powder can also be used.

Milliput putty responds well to texturing, but if it gets too wet it can be difficult to work with. In that case, continue kneading it until it loses its stickiness.

*** To keep the roller details in good condition, it is essential to clean it thoroughly after each use.

CLEANING:

If any residue remains in the design grooves, use water and Scratch brushes to remove it effectively without damaging the relief.

WARNINGS:

This product should only be handled by children under adult supervision.
