Textured Roller for Small Bricks

The textured roller allows you to precisely transfer decorative patterns onto putties, clays, and modeling pastes. It is made of transparent PMMA acrylic plastic with a non-stick surface that prevents the material from sticking. It is safe and free of toxic substances.

Physical Characteristics:

  • Length: 14.5 cm (5.5 inches)
  • Width: 2.5 cm (1 inch)
  • Pattern Size: 2-6 mm (variable)
  • Recommended Scales: 1/35 - 1/43 - 1/48 - 1/76

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

  1. Knead or mix the product until it acquires the appropriate texture for Always consult the manufacturer's recommendations.
  2. Place the putty on the surface you wish to texture and spread it evenly. To achieve a flat and even base, it is advisable to first use a smooth roller.
  3. If the putty is very sticky, you can dampen the roller or apply a small amount of modeling petroleum jelly.
  4. Roll the roller smoothly but with constant pressure to obtain a homogeneous pattern.
  5. Once the putty has hardened, trim the excess edges to define the final piece.

COMPATIBILITY WITH DIFFERENT MATERIALS:

This accessory can be used with various putties and clays on the market.

Polymer clays such as Super Sculpey are especially suitable: they allow for easy application of the texture and harden only when baked. If the design includes a base, it is possible to work directly on MDF wood bases. and bake them without problems (150°C for 15 minutes). These MDF bases do not burn, although they give off a slight odor when heated.

As for epoxy putties, their behavior varies depending on the composition. Green stuff is very sticky and requires wetting the roller or applying petroleum jelly to prevent it from sticking. Talcum powder can also be used.

Milliput putty is suitable, although it is recommended not to add too much water, as this can make it difficult to work with. If it feels too soft or sticky, continue kneading until its consistency improves.

*** It is advisable to thoroughly clean the rollers after working with epoxy putties.

CARE AND CLEANING:

Wash the roller after each use with water and remove any residue with scratch brushes, especially in the engraved areas.
