Textured Dry Earth Roller - Frozen

The textured roller is a tool designed to add texture to surfaces of putty, clay, or modeling pastes. Made of transparent PMMA, a high-quality, non-stick, non-toxic, and durable technical plastic.

Dimensions:

  • Length: 14.5 cm (5.5")
  • Diameter: 2.5 cm (1")

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

  1. Knead the putty or clay until you achieve a homogeneous mixture, as recommended by the manufacturer.
  2. Spread the material onto the surface to be textured and smooth it well for best results. It is recommended to smooth it beforehand with a smooth roller to achieve a smooth surface uniform.
  3. If the material is very sticky, dampen the roller or apply a thin layer of modeling petroleum jelly.
  4. Roll the roller applying constant pressure, making sure to cover the entire surface evenly.
  5. When the material is dry or hardened, trim off the excess to define the final shape.

COMPATIBLE MATERIALS:

This roller is suitable for numerous types of clays and putties.

Polymer clays like Super Sculpey are very versatile and allow you to work at your own pace, as they don't harden until baked. For base work, you can apply the clay directly onto MDF wood bases and bake them together. The recommended baking time is 15 minutes at 150°C (300°F). MDF wood withstands this process well, although it may emit a slight smell similar to toast.

In the case of Epoxy putties: the technique may vary depending on the type. Green stuff, very common in model making, is quite sticky. To prevent it from sticking to the roller, you can use water or a small amount of petroleum jelly. Talcum powder is also useful. Milliput putty also allows for texturizing, but you should avoid adding too much water. If it becomes too soft or sticky, continue kneading it until its texture improves. *** Don't forget to thoroughly clean the rollers after using these types of putties, as they can leave residues that are difficult to remove if they dry. CLEANING AND CARE: Wash the roller with plenty of water after each use. If any residue remains, you can use Scratch brushes to thoroughly clean the design grooves. WARNING: This item should not be used by children without adult supervision.
