Travel back in time to the golden age of all things sweet! In the 1950s it was very rewarding to go to the store to buy chocolate bars and snacks after the rationing that ended in 1953 just for the celebrations of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, for which special wrappers were designed for these sweets. During the time when chocolate was in short supply, these new treats were restricted to products such as Polo mints and sequins (both arrived in 1948) and Bassetts Jelly Babies (1953).
By the end of the decade, a new era of confectionery brands with Opal Fruits, Picnic, Munchies and Caramac. Even so, the old fashioned ones continued to be successful, such as Maltesers, Aero, Kit Kat, Black Magic and Mars which had first been released in the 1930s. This is a 500 piece puzzle that comes in a rectangular tin of beautiful design. High quality 500 piece puzzle made with thick, durable, 100% recycled pieces. Presented in a small tin with the image of the puzzle on both sides. The puzzle measures 34x49 cm once done. Painted with love by 2019 Memorial Gift of the Year award-winning artist Robert Opie.
