The Great Fire of 1666 has left London devastated. This is your chance to build a new city on the ashes of the old one, using the talents of the people of London to do so. Will you favor business to earn more money, or would you prefer to spend more than you can afford on huge monuments and sumptuous palaces? You will also have to deal with the problem of growing poverty and provide employment for beggars in the city. During the game you will be forced to make difficult decisions. To achieve one goal you must sacrifice another, leaving the door open to competitors.

In London, a strategy game for 2-4 players, players will take on the role of prominent architects, responsible for rebuilding London and guiding the development of the city until the beginning of the 20th century. You must balance your vision, finances and the needs of the inhabitants of the city if you aspire to be remembered as an icon of London.

The game revolves around four main elements: buildings, money, land and poverty. Each of these elements has an influence on the rest, and they affect your prestige. In your turn you will develop the city: buy land, gather resources or run your part of the city, taking advantage of the area you just developed. Although money will be needed for these purposes, it is not the objective of the game: only the most prestigious architect will be remembered.

Almost 250 years of progress, famous buildings and monuments of the era, as well as improvements in engineering and industry, are illustrated in the charts. Knowing how and when to play them will be the key to winning the game, since they have two main benefits: the prestige they will grant you at the end of the game, and the effect they trigger when activated. Some will even have a permanent effect, activated whenever the card is in play.
