Each player leads one of the 5 most important civilizations that arose on the shores of the Mediterranean: Rome, Carthage , Egypt, Greece, and Babylon.

To increase your greatness (and win the game), you must get rich to build wonders, hire the heroes, or (which is more difficult) build the pyramids. p>

To amass your fortune, conquest is not always the most effective method. If you know how to develop your trade or skillfully manage your constructions, you will be able to achieve your goal much faster than your opponents.

Mare Nostrum is a game for all audiences, in which everyone can win using different strategies while discovering the riches of the Mediterranean.

Each player embodies the rulers of a civilization that must develop by exploiting its riches, building towns, establishing caravans or militarily occupying the free provinces or those under the influence of other players…

The objective of the game is to be the first to build the pyramids or to own 4 wonders or heroes. For a player's civilization to dominate, they must wisely balance trade, diplomacy, and military strategy. In each game turn, certain players will have a privileged role: the Trade Lord will determine the amount of resources that can be traded, the Political Leader will determine the order of purchases in the construction phase, the Warlord the order of play. p>
