Fall of the Mountain King recreates the prequel to In the Hall of the Mountain King, but is a standalone game and can be played without any additional components.

Fall of the Mountain King is set during the cataclysmic war , who drove the trolls from their kingdom within the mountain generations ago. The invasion of the dwarves was sudden and unrelenting. They flooded our tunnels, desecrated our mountain, and drove us out of our ancestral caves. Trolls from every clan rushed into the heart of the mountain to defend the Great Halls. For a long time we withstood the endless waves of invaders and successfully repulsed the dwarves. But soon it will be time for one last stand. Will we rise up like heroes, or will we be driven out into the wilderness to fight for a miserable life Shut up your blades, brothers and sisters! Raise your hands! If we have to fall trolls, then we will fall fighting!
