Subatomic An Atom Building Game

Subatomic: An Atom Building Game, is a deck-building game in which players compete to build a series of available atomic elements to earn the most victory points.

Each player starts with the same deck of cards consisting of proton, neutron and electron cards. They must use these cards to build on their current atom (playing these cards face up as subatomic particles) in an attempt to form one of the available element cards.

Alternatively, players can use their hand of cards to purchase more powerful cards for later use (playing them in combinations of face-down cards as energy and face-up cards as subatomic particles). Subatomic introduces a unique variation on deckbuilding games with a high-precision chemistry theme, with the ultimate goal of building items to score points, but allowing for many different types of strategies. .

How to play?

Each turn, players draw a new hand of cards and choose how to build their atom to score points, or buy stronger cards for their deck. Players must use their quarks and photons to build protons, neutrons and electrons. They then decide to (1) place these subatomic particles inside the atom on their player board (trying to complete an entire atom and get the points), or (2) use them to purchase proton, neutron, and electron cards that go into their deck ( which makes their deck more powerful and allows them to build atoms even faster in the future).

Players can also "hire" famous scientists such as Marie Curie, Niels Bohr, Maria Goeppert-Mayer, and Albert Einstein, and use them to break standard game rules, such as converting energy into matter and replicating cards played by other players.
