Liquid Frost Effect 17ml

The Liquid Frost Effect is made with a combination of acrylic resin and a saline solution, which contributes to giving it a frost-like appearance after the crystallization of the salts contained in its medium. Due to its natural composition, there are external factors that can affect frost formation, such as humidity, temperature, and the surface or structure to which it is applied.

It can mimic frost on trees, shrubs, flowers, ice crystals, and even other crystalline formations. Apply several coats and let dry for a few hours. Subsequent applications could reactivate the crystallization process and restart the growth process. It can be cleaned with water if necessary. The effects may differ depending on whether it is applied with a brush or airbrush. Applying very thin coats with an airbrush is not recommended, as crystals will not form. Diluting it with water is not recommended, as any crystals that do form will be weaker.

This saline acrylic solution creates a whitish crystalline structure that simulates the effect of frost. Due to its natural composition, under certain external factors such as humidity, temperature, and the surface or structure to which it is applied, the formation of frost may be affected.

It can imitate frost on trees, shrubs, flowers, crystals, and even other crystalline appearances.

How to Apply Liquid Frost

To apply the frost effect to a surface, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Start by preparing the base or diorama to which you will apply the liquid frost effect. Make sure the surface is clean and dry, and remove any dust or dirt.
  2. Next, shake the bottle of liquid frost well to ensure the solution is thoroughly mixed.
  3. Apply the frost effect directly from the dropper bottle to the desired surface, or you can use a brush for more precise application.
  4. Let the liquid frost dry completely, which can take anywhere from a few hours to a full day, depending on the humidity and temperature.
  5. Once the modeling frost effect has dried, you can add additional layers if desired to achieve the desired level of frost. Just be sure to let each layer dry completely. Dry completely before adding the next layer.
  6. When finished, you can use a little CA glue to give the created crystals extra strength and hardness.

Apply multiple layers and let dry for 4 to 24 hours. Subsequent applications could reactivate the crystallization process and make them grow. It can be cleaned with water if desired.

The effects may change depending on whether it is applied with a brush or an airbrush. When airbrushing, it is recommended not to apply very thin layers as the crystals will not form. It can be thinned with water, but the crystals that form will be weaker.

Contains 17ml.

Warnings when applying the Frost Effect

  • Once crystallized, if they get wet with any acrylic paint or varnish, they could melt or simply weaken. However, depending on the product used, they could recrystallize. later.
  • Do not use liquid frost on porous materials that may absorb the product medium, as this could affect its performance. Surfaces to avoid include natural wood, MDF, cork, cardboard, etc. You can still use these materials, but they must be sealed beforehand.
  • You can increase the hardness of the crystals by applying cyanoacrylate glue by capillary action. If the crystals are not well formed or glued, some details may be lost. If you use too much glue, you may release fumes containing cyanoacrylate. It is always advisable to leave the crystals as they are if you don't think they will be touched much.
  • Crystals should always be tinted by capillary action, and it is recommended to fix them before tinting to minimize the effect on their structure.
