Within the game, participants will play Koinobori cards visibly on the common poles of the festival and hidden on their own personal poles. At the end of the game, everyone will score based on the Koinobori with the most presence on the festival poles. The more Koinoboris of the same color you have on your pole, the more points you will get.

Playing cards on your own pole at the beginning of the game increases your skills, however it also increases the risk as there is less information on the festival poles. Similarly, if you wait too long to play cards on your own flagpole, your chances of influencing the festival flagpoles decrease; finding balance and keeping an eye on your opponents will lead you to victory.
