Exploding kittens is the most sponsored kickstarter project ever. Created by Elan Lee (Xbox, ARGs), Matthew Inman (The Oatmeal), and Shane Small (Xbox, Marvel), the Exploding Kittens game made Kickstarter history when it garnered more than 219,000 backers.

It is a cat version of Russian roulette with a great strategic component. Players draw cards until someone gets an Exploding Kitten. When this happens, that person dies and is eliminated from the game unless they have a Deactivation card, which will negate the effect of the Exploding Kitten with laser pointers, belly scratches, and tuna sandwiches.
