Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde
Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde is a game with simple rules and accessible to everyone, from 2 to 4 players and with a variable duration depending on a score agreed at the beginning of the game. Two teams face each other: Dr. Jekyll's against Mr. Hyde's. Players must help each other to beat the rival. However, control over the cards themselves is limited: Dr. Jekyll players must also play cards from the Mr. Hyde team, and vice versa. This requires subtle communication and tactics between the players.
Wolfgang Werner has designed a game that with very few components maintains the spirit of the story. It's not a narrative or thematic game, but somehow it stays true to that spirit. We have renewed the graphic aspect of the game and all the illustrations, taking as reference drawings and photographs of the time.
In the cards, illustrated by Amelia Sales, the plot of the story is synthesized. Each group of cards, Jekyll or Hyde, represents an aspect of the story and is the front and back of the story: the streets, the places, the emotions, the characters, the terrible transformation... they are presented in two different and symmetrical decks that visually explain the novel.
