Little Big Galaxies

The interstellar fleet awaits your orders. The time has come to expand to uncharted planets in the far reaches of space!

Little Big Galaxies is a game by Scott Almes with illustrations by Bill Bricker and design by Benjamin Shulman. It allows games from 1 to 5 players, from 14 years old, with an approximate duration of 30 minutes. To win, players must score victory points by evolving their empire and colonizing planets.

As usual in Scott Almes' “Little Big…” saga of titles, we will find a lot of components in a small box that will ensure many hours of fun. Each player has a personal board where he keeps track of his energy reserves, his culture points and his empire level. It will also be the base of your star fleet, from which ships will depart to conquer new worlds. These uncharted planets are found in the center of the table, in the form of cards that are revealed from the common deck, and are available to explore or colonize. On their turn, players will roll the number of dice that correspond to their empire level to determine what actions they can take.

The six available actions (one for each side of the die) are: move a ship, acquire energy, acquire culture, promote colonization through diplomacy, promote colonization through economy, and use the special power of a colony or of the galactic board. Throughout the game, players will have to decide if they prioritize colonizing planets and racing rivals, or if they prefer to use the benefits of those planets, take resources and advance their empire. There is no single path to victory and any decision can be key!

Each player will also have a secret mission card and if they fulfill the requirements, they will add extra victory points at the end of the game, which is triggered when a player reaches 21 victory points.

In solo mode, the game turns into a struggle between the player-controlled empire and a rebellion that spreads inexorably across the galaxy. Through an ingenious AI system, the rebellion will test the capabilities of the human commander in a challenging challenge. Little Big Galaxies is a game for everyone. Its rules are very intuitive, so shortly after opening the box you will already start the game, which makes it ideal for more sporadic players. However, the large number of actions available to the participants offers many alternatives to the players, so the most competitive groups will also enjoy a good challenge.
