2mm EVA Foam Cosplay (Medium Density)

EVA foam, short for ethylene-vinyl acetate foam, is a material widely used in cosplay to create costumes, accessories, and armor. There are three types of this material, each of which varies in density and application, namely

• The soft density (hardness less than <25º Shore A> is the cheapest and lowest quality, often too flimsy for children's craft projects. It doesn't hold its shape well, has porous finishes, and lacks the durability needed for wearable costumes. As a result, this type is not recommended for serious cosplayers looking for long-lasting creations.
• Medium density (30º-40º Shore A hardness) is the most commonly used in cosplay. It strikes a balance between flexibility and firmness, making it ideal for constructing armor, accessories, and props that require some degree of structural integrity while remaining comfortable to wear. This type can be heat-molded, sanded, and detailed with ease, making it versatile for a variety of projects.
• High density (over 50º Shore A hardness) is stiffer and more durable, and is used for larger or more complex pieces that need to maintain their shape over time. It's ideal for helmets, shields, or armor pieces that need to withstand more wear. Although heavier and more difficult to work with than the medium-density version, the hard-density version provides a robust, polished finish for professional-quality projects.
