Flat Basswood Strips

basswood is characterized by its smooth texture, very fine grain, and ease of working. It glues perfectly with white glue and can be cut, sanded, and carved without difficulty using common tools, making it an ideal material for model making, crafts, and all kinds of model projects, especially naval and ship model building.

This type of model wood is widely used in dioramas, naval, railway, and aeromodelling, but it is also perfect for creating scenery elements for wargames and other tabletop games, such as houses, stairs, walkways, fences, and any type of detailed structure.

It has a light, practically uniform cream color and is very easy to sand, varnish, and stain. For painting, it is recommended to apply an acrylic primer, especially if acrylic paints are going to be used.
