Aztec Textured Roller

The textured roller is an ideal tool for adding relief and decorative patterns to a wide variety of putties, clays, and modeling pastes. It is made of durable, transparent PMMA acrylic plastic with a non-stick effect. It is safe and non-toxic.

HOW TO USE IT?

1. Start by thoroughly mixing the putty or clay according to the manufacturer's instructions until you obtain a uniform texture ready to work with.
2. Place and flatten the putty onto the desired surface. For best results, make sure it is as smooth as possible. A smooth roller is very useful for preparing the base before applying the texture.
3. Depending on the material you are using, it may be necessary to lightly dampen the roller or apply a small amount of modeling petroleum jelly.
4. Roll the roller over the surface, applying constant, gentle pressure so that the design is well imprinted.
5. Once the material has hardened, trim off any excess or define the edges.

RECOMMENDED MATERIALS:

This roller can be used with multiple types of modeling products.

Clays like Super Sculpey offer great ease of use, as they allow for multiple corrections before hardening. If you are creating textured surfaces, you can apply directly onto MDF wood bases, which can withstand baking without damage (150°C for 15 minutes). You will only notice a slight odor during baking.

Puttys Epoxy putties, like green stuff, tend to be stickier, so it's advisable to use water or a thin layer of petroleum jelly for modeling to make it easier to work with. Talcum powder can also be helpful.

Milliput putty also works very well, as long as you control the amount of moisture: too much water can make it difficult to work with. If it's soft or sticky, just keep kneading it until you get the right consistency.

*** It's essential to clean the roller after each use, especially with epoxy putties.

MAINTENANCE:

Wash the roller with water and use Scratch brushes to remove any residue that may have become embedded in the design's raised areas.
