Textured Pavement Roller 15mm

This textured roller has been designed to work on a wide variety of putties, clays, and pastes used in model making and sculpture. It is made of clear acrylic plastic (PMMA), a durable, non-toxic material with a non-stick surface that makes it easy to use.

Approximate Dimensions

  • Length: 14.50 cm (5.5 inches)
  • Diameter: 2.5 cm (1 inch)
  • Stone Size: 1.5 x 1.5 mm
  • Recommended Scales: 1/144 - 1/100 - 1/72 (miniatures 12-15-20 mm)

INSTRUCTIONS USAGE:

  1. Mix the putty or clay until it is well prepared for working, always following the product instructions.
  2. Spread the material onto the base where you want to apply the texture. A level surface is essential for a clean result. It is recommended to smooth it first with a non-patterned roller.
  3. To prevent the material from sticking to the roller, you can lightly wet the roller or apply a small amount of modeling petroleum jelly.
  4. Roll the tool evenly, applying constant pressure to clearly imprint the design.
  5. Let it harden and cut off the excess when the material is dry or at the right point.

RECOMMENDED PUTTY AND CLAY TYPES:

This type of roller works well with many kinds of materials.

Polymer clays like Super Sculpey are very easy to work with, as they do not harden until Bake, allowing for pre-finishing touch-ups. You can apply them directly onto MDF wood bases and bake everything together at 150°C for 15 minutes. The MDF wood will withstand it without problems, although it may generate a slight smell similar to toast.

Good results are also achieved with epoxy putties.

Green Stuff, due to its high adhesiveness, may require you to dampen the roller or use petroleum jelly for modeling. Another useful alternative is to sprinkle a little talcum powder.

As for Milliput putty, it is advisable to control the amount of water, as an excess can make it difficult to work with. If you notice that it is too sticky, knead it a little more until its consistency improves.

Procedure cleaning afterward is essential, especially when working with epoxy materials.

CLEANING AND CARE:

To keep the roller's texture in good condition, clean off any residue.

of putty with plenty of water and scratch brushes, especially if the material has gotten into the details of the design.

RESPONSIBLE USE:

Not to be used by children without proper adult supervision.
