TEMPLE Textured Roller

The Textured Roller is a useful tool for creating patterns and reliefs on different types of putties, clays, and pastes. It is made of transparent PMMA plastic, a non-stick, safe, and non-toxic material.

STEPS FOR USE:

1. Prepare the putty or clay well, mixing it until you achieve a homogeneous texture, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
2. Spread the material on the surface where you will apply the relief, making sure it is as smooth as possible. Possible. You can use a smooth roller to smooth the surface before applying the texture.
3. Depending on the putty, it may be necessary to lightly dampen the roller or apply a layer of modeling petroleum jelly to prevent sticking.
4. Roll evenly, applying the same pressure across the entire surface to achieve a smooth finish.
5. Once the material has hardened, trim any excess edges to define the final piece.

MATERIAL COMPATIBILITY:

This roller is perfectly suited to various types of modeling products.

With Super Sculpey, a very versatile polymer clay, reliefs are easily created and the work can be corrected before baking. If you wish to texture a base, MDF wood bases allow you to apply the clay directly and bake it with the base included (150°C for 15 minutes). This wood has a smell similar to bread. It toasts, but doesn't burn.

In the case of epoxy putties, there are several possible approaches. Green putty is especially sticky, so it's recommended to apply water or petroleum jelly to the modeling compound before using the roller. Sprinkling a little talcum powder is also helpful.

Milliput putty also works well, but it's best not to overdo it with moisture, as this can make it difficult to work with. If it's too soft, simply continue kneading it until it loses its stickiness.

*** Cleaning the roller after using epoxy putties is key to preserving the detail of the engraving.

MAINTENANCE:

Wash the roller with water after each use and use scratch brushes to thoroughly clean any putty residue left between the raised areas.
