Vampire Textured Roller

Special textured rollers for shaping or spreading all types of putties, clays, and pastes. Made of non-stick, transparent PMMA plastic. Non-toxic.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Carefully mix the putty or sculpting clay according to the manufacturer's instructions.

2. Spread the putty or clay onto the surface to be textured. For optimal results, level and smooth the surface properly before applying the rollers. It is recommended to use the smooth roller for this purpose.

3. Depending on the type of material used, it may be advisable to dampen the roller with a little water. Water, or apply modeling petroleum jelly, to prevent sticking.

4th Carefully roll over the surface, applying the same pressure to all areas to obtain a consistent texture.

5th Trim off any excess putty or clay once the material has completely dried.

MATERIALS:

There are countless putties and clays on the market, and all of them can be textured using the appropriate technique.

Generally, polymer clays (like Super Sculpey polymer clay) are quite easy to work with using these rollers and allow for easy correction of mistakes since they don't dry until they are baked. If the goal is to create textured bases, we recommend using MDF bases, as it is possible to texture the clay directly onto the MDF base and then bake everything, base included. The baking time for clays is 15 minutes at a temperature of 150ºC. The MDF wood will leave a smell similar to toasted bread, but it will not burn.

If you are working with epoxy putties, it is a little different and there are more techniques to achieve similar results. One advantage is that they do not need to be baked and can be applied directly to plastic materials.

In the case of Green Stuff, which is especially sticky, you will need to dampen the rollers with a little water. You can also reduce its stickiness by applying talcum powder or, for the best results, petroleum jelly for modelers.

Other epoxy putties such as Milliput are also suitable, but we recommend not over-wetting them as this makes them difficult to work with. On the other hand, if the mixture is too sticky, continue kneading until its stickiness is reduced.

After using this type of putty, it is very important to clean the rollers properly.

CLEANING AND CARE: After using the rollers, if any material remains on the design, clean with the Scratch cleaning brushes and plenty of water.
