The ruins emerged as if in a mirage. Suddenly, the festering fog that had surrounded us during our flight dissolved and our hunters stopped: neither the primeval abomination nor the horrifying swarms of corruption that pursued us were willing to leave the milky depths of the fog cloud We had arrived at a sunken, overgrown pyramid. Davokar had not yet completely devoured it and we found an asymmetrical opening. Hoping to find some safety and rest, we made our way through the vines and descended on ropes, leaving terror and corruption behind us. The fear slowly began to leave Oleana's eyes and the blackened veins that had covered her white cheeks regained their natural paleness. Sunlight filtered through the cracks to the center of the room, illuminating a huge gray stone column decorated with strange, ancient and hypnotic inscriptions. We started walking towards the pillar, but halfway there Oleana grabbed my arm and stopped me. Like abominations in the fog, I thought. A group of almost human beings, naked and with spider jaws clenched with hunger, began to surround us, slowly but surely. Oleana pushed me towards the column and, although I knew I was going to die, I started to climb. My father's words echoed in my head: "In Davokar there is only one law: no matter what happens, never give up." The Symbaroum Monster Codex will make the settlements, forests, and valleys of Davokar more dangerous than ever. Inside are hidden more than a hundred abominations and monsters, described in detail or outlined in a couple of lines: from creatures famous throughout Ambria to others only mentioned in stories and legends, to beasts dominated by hunger or capable of to reason.
