In Low Stakes, by Craig Campbell, you play a gothic horror monster (a vampire, a werewolf or a ghost) or one of his human friends. You all share a house, because nowadays the issue of housing is complicated for everyone. The truth is, it makes you sad to live together and collaborate to keep the house well.

In this role-playing game without a DJ, you will play out scenes similar to those in sitcoms, while you and your friends guide your aberrant characters through the daily vicissitudes of the 21st century, trying to gain influence over your housemates and you face problems that do not pose any difficulty to mortal eyes but that for you can be... chilling.

Low Stakes is directly inspired by the series and film What We Do in the Shadows, to which it aims to be a pure homage.

Low Stakes is a narrative game that uses a very simple system. For most of the session, you play your character, expressing his words and actions. The only rolls you will make will be for two things:

Try to impose yourself and have an advantage over your housemates, using those things that you are good at.
Deal with your own conflict zones, when you try to perform actions that you are not good at.
When you perform one of these actions, you must roll with dice of 6 (between 1 and 2 plus the number you add depending on the amount of trust points you spend). If you exceed the Objective Value of the action (6 for the things you are bad at and 5 for the rest), you will have achieved your goal... or you will face increasing difficulties.

Both mechanics will help you generate a positive result and the most fun ending possible for the story you are going to tell together.

Each archetype script (Anachronism, Rebel, Grumpy, Caregiver, etc.) includes positive points and areas of conflict, things you are good at and things you are bad at.
