The raider class corvette was designed to support the Star Destroyers with their anti-hunting short-range weapons including powerful batteries of cannons and heavy ion double retractable laser cannons. The modularity of its weaponry and its ability to operate alone for long periods of time caused many of these corvettes served in the Outer Rim as patrol ships, or will be assigned a more prestigious job as a heavy support in covert operations.
