Botanicus (Spanish)

In Botanicus, your mission is to create your own botanical garden. Hire a gardener and then go looking for the most beautiful plants in the world. But don't plant them just anywhere! Your visitors are very demanding and have a very clear idea of ​​what they would like to see. Will your garden overshadow all the others?

Designed by Vieri Masseini and Samuele Tabellini, and illustrated by Marcel Gröber, Botanicus offers games for couples or groups of up to 4 players, aged 10 and up, in sessions of between 45 and 60 minutes. The aim of the game is to get more victory points than the rest, either by completing tasks, advancing on the markers or cultivating a beautiful botanical garden.

On their turn, players will move their gardener through the garden on the personal board, which contains flowerbeds arranged in rows and columns. In the 4 spaces available to them, the gardener will plant different types of seeds or water the plants to make them grow. Each turn, players will decide what actions they want to take and try to accomplish specific tasks that will reward them with points and/or coins. At the end of the game, players earn points for each column that is completely filled with plants, so make sure your gardener doesn't rest on his laurels!

Botanicus has earned a recommendation in the prestigious Kennerspiel des Jahres 2024 awards. However, even though it is classified as an expert game, its mechanics are very accessible to the general public. The rules, packed with examples and very didactic wording, are only 12 pages long, which also include curiosities about the plants that are grown during the game.

One of the strong points of Botanicus is its production, with attention to detail and clear and intuitive art. In addition to the central board and the personal boards of each player, there are lots of wooden pieces of different colors that show gardeners, shovels, wheelbarrows, money bags, flowers and animals. There are also several decks of cards, tokens and tiles. And to keep everything organized, the game includes 5 folding cardboard boxes, which will also make it easier to prepare for the next game.
