The Lake in Flames (Spanish)

The Lake of Flames is the fourth volume in the COIN Series (from GMT Games) and delves deeply into the momentous and complex struggle for South Vietnam. Featuring a unique multi-faction treatment of the Vietnam War, this game takes players through jungle sweeps of American forces by helicopter, communist infiltrations in the south, inter-Allied conferences, the politics of Saigon, interdictions on the Ho Chi Minh Trail, air defense of northern infrastructure, graded escalations, and media warfare.

The Lake of Flames uses the same card-assisted counterinsurgency game system as other COIN titles such as Andean Abyss, Cuba Libre, and A Distant Plain, but introduces innovations that elevate the series to another level, including:

Key events that can alter the initiative, such as the Tet Offensive, Vietnamization, the Easter Offensive, and Linebacker II.
Campaign effects between coups that vary by the leader of the Republic of Vietnam (RVN).
Counterinsurgency guerrillas, such as US-led Irregulars and ARVN Rangers.
North Vietnamese Army (NVA) insurgent troops for direct confrontation.
Tunneled VC and NVA bases.
Construction and degradation of the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
A larger than ever event deck for greater variety in play.
Short- and medium-term scenarios with options for random or period-specific events.
