These are the last years of the 26th century. Earth is recovering from a catastrophic explosion that wiped out most of the population centuries ago and rendered nearly the entire surface uninhabitable due to unearthly atmospheric conditions. The surviving humans organized themselves according to four radically different ideologies, called Paths, to rebuild the world as they see fit: Harmony, Domination, Progress, and Salvation. The followers of the four Paths live in a fragile peace, but in almost complete isolation from each other. Their only meeting point is the last great metropolis on Earth, now known as the Capital.

By powering the mysterious Time Rifts that opened in the aftermath of the cataclysm, each Path managed to return and make contact with specific moments in your past. Doing this allows them to greatly speed up their progress, but meddling too much can endanger the time-space continuum. But progress is more important now than ever: if we are to believe the mysterious message that has come through the Time Rift, an even more terrible cataclysm looms on the horizon: an asteroid bearing a mysterious substance called Neutronium is headed for Earth. . But there's something even stranger, scientists have discovered that the energetic imprint of the asteroid matches the explosion of centuries ago...

Anachrony is a competitive strategy game set in a post-apocalyptic world, which includes a Unique two-tier worker placement system. To travel to the Capital or delve into the devastated areas to search for resources, players will not only need various Specialists (Engineers, Scientists, Administrators, and Geniuses), but also Exosuits to protect them and grant buffs – both of which are in short supply. p>

Through time travel, players will be able to interact with previous turns, and will assume the role of symbolic leaders of the four Paths, having to strive not only to achieve the supremacy and well-being of their own, but also to survive together with the rest of the ideologies.

The game takes place over 4-7 turns (called Eras), depending on the time in which the cataclysm happens (unless, of course, it is! avoided!). Turns are measured on a dynamic Timeline. By supplying energy to the Time Rifts, players can provide resources to their "selves" from the past. Each Path has a radically different objective that rewards the player who completes it with a huge number of victory points.

After the fourth Age, an asteroid impact will shake the Earth, threatening to destroy the Capital, and the Roads must be prepared for the cataclysm and help evacuate the ruined Capital. The settlements on the Roads will survive the impact, but the Capital will not. The Path that manages to obtain the most points will be the new location for the Capital, that is, the most important force on the planet.
