Lisboa is a game about the reconstruction of Lisboa after the great earthquake of 1755.

On November 1, 1755, Lisbon was hit by an earthquake estimated at 8.5-9.0 magnitude, followed by a tsunami and three days of fires. The city was almost completely destroyed. The Marquess of Pombal - Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo - was the foreign minister at the time and the king commissioned him to rebuild Lisbon.

The Marquess of Pombal assembled a team of engineers and architects. You are a member of the nobility, someone who wants to use and increase their influence in the reconstruction and economic development of the new city. Work with the Architects to rebuild Lisbon, with the Marquis to develop commerce and with the King to inaugurate the newly constructed buildings.

Lisboa is depicted on a real downtown map played by Lisbon. When planning the downtown project, it was previously determined what kind of shops would be allowed on each street. The economy is fueled by the wealth of the royal treasury and this treasury is controlled by player actions throughout the game, making each game a completely different experience. The game ends after a set number of rounds, and whoever has collected the most points by the end of the game wins.
