In Arkwright, players run up to four factories in late 18th Century England with the goal of making their blocks of holdings the most valuable by the end of the game. Therefore, they must increase the value of their shares and buy others from the bank.
Each player has a set of action markers, which will allow them to build and modernize factories, employ new workers, improve quality, etc. . On their turn, they can place these markers on their Administration board, and by paying the corresponding costs they can perform actions. The factories are activated at the end of each turn, and the players must face the costs of machinery and workers, and sell the products they have manufactured, the price of which will depend on the quality and value of their shares. After four turns, all factories will have produced and the round ends.
Arkwright allows you to choose from a wide variety of strategies. Distribute your resources and attention among the four factories, or focus on only two of them to improve them more than your opponents, use the shipments to the colonies or conduct your business in the national market. In any case, one thing is clear: you must react to your opponents' actions and strategies, adapting during the game. Enter deficit markets or ditch low-margin businesses. Buy shares when they're cheap...and raise their price!
Neither having the most valuable share nor having the most shares will ensure victory: only the player whose combined shares are the most valuable at the end of the fifth round will have won
