Messina 1347

In 1347, merchant galleys from the Crimean peninsula arrived in Sicily and docked at the ancient port of Messina. The galleys had rats. The rats had fleas. And the fleas carried a plague that would become known as the Black Death. In the next four years, half the population of Europe would die from the plague.
Players take on the role of noble families with estates in the countryside around Messina. They try to rescue people from the plague by moving them to their properties. As the plague in Messina worsens, players will build small independent communities, while trying to control the plague through fire.
In the final rounds of the game, the plague begins to abate and players return rescued citizens to repopulate the resilient city of Messina.
