The Hunt (Spanish)

September 1939: Admiral Graf Spee's commander, Hans Lansdorff, is ordered to sink the largest number of cargo ships in the South Atlantic. The objective is to intercept ships crossing the Atlantic and prevent supplies from reaching the United Kingdom and other destinations.

During the first months of the war, the plan worked. In a few weeks, the Admiral Graf Spee sank 9 ships and sent almost 50,000 tons of merchandise to the bottom of the sea. The gigantic loss put the army command in London under pressure. The Admiralty had no choice but to focus on the hunt and capture of the Admiral Graf Spee, whose end would come in what is known as the Battle of the Río de la Plata and its subsequent events.

Designed by Matthias Cramer (Watergate, Lancaster) and Engin Kunter, The Hunt is an asymmetric game for 2 players with "card driven" and "hidden movement" mechanics where knowledge of each deck will be decisive in winning. In addition, the game is illustrated by Albert Monteys, former director of the satirical magazine El Jueves and author, among others, of the digital series ¡Universo! and Matadero Cinco, both nominated in their category for the Eisner Comic Awards. In charge of graphic design is Joao Duarte-Silva.

In The Hunt, one player will assume leadership of the British Navy, while the other player will represent the German Kriegsmarine. Each player will have their own deck of cards. To win, the player leading the German side must stay hidden from the British while he attempts to sink 5 cargo ships. On the other hand, the player leading the British must hunt down and confront the Admiral Graf Spee in a naval battle that will be final, in which case the side that ends up with the least damage wins. Will the British be able to take advantage of their numerical superiority or will the Germans be the ones who, with their cunning and refined strategy, manage to overthrow the rival? An exciting and decisive battle begins that will be key to defining the destiny of the two great powers.
